Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested on Tuesday by Pakistani Rangers outside the Islamabad High Court. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief was taken into custody in connection with the Al Qadir Trust case, for which the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had summoned him multiple times. The leader had earlier posted a video on his twitter handle saying, he is ready for the arrest. Islamabad IGP Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, told Pakistani media outlets that the situation is under control. Meanwhile, the PTI shared photos of Imran Khan’s lawyer claiming he was injured in a scuffle during the arrest of the PTI chief.

In an interview with Associated Press, Pak’s FM Bilawal Bhutto said his country is facing “a perfect storm” of troubles including deep financial crisis. Bhutto has admitted to multiple crises that it is facing and how it is struggling to deal with them. Foreign Minister sharply criticised IMF for the delay of Dollars 6 billion bailout over Pakistan failing to meet terms of 2019 deal. Bhutto said that Pak has been unable to achieve structural tax reform “for the last 23 IMF programs that we have been a part of”. Spotting the light on China, Bhutto shared Pak’s healthy economic relationship with its neighbor.
