Dhanteras, also known as Dhantrayodashi, a festival, celebrated for two days before Diwali. It is an auspicious day to make new purchases, such as gold, silver, utensils and even articles made of other metals, as they are believed to be symbols of good luck.

The festival is dedicated to the goddess of wealth, Lakshmi, and is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor across India and other countries. On the auspicious occasion, people decorate their homes, light diyas, and perform special pujas to invite the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi.
