Missionaries of Charity, a catholic congregation set up by Mother Teresa was denied Foreigners Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) registration due to &ldquo;audit irregularities&rdquo;, said a government official as per a report in The Hindu.
This comes after the ministry of home affairs informed that it has refused to renew FCRA registration after noticing some &ldquo;adverse inputs.&rdquo;
FCRA registration is mandatory for any NGO or congregation to receive foreign funds. MHA is the controlling authority of FCRA and it conducts inspections and audits of NGOs.
