Sanjay Dina Patil from Shiv Sena (UBT) went to Vikhroli to file nomination for contesting from Mumbai North East Lok Sabha constituency

Sanjay Dina Patil was elected to state assembly in 2004 from Bhandup area of Mumbai

In 2009, Patil was elected to Lok Sabha from Mumbai North East constituency as a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate

Sanjay Dina Patil had lost the polls for the same seat in 2014 and later in 2019, he had later joined the Shiv Sena

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) has two MLAs from this constituency, including senior party leader Sanjay Raut’s brother Sunil Raut from Vikhroli, the BJP has three MLAs from the constituency

During his journey to the filing of nomination, there were traditional dancers and musicians who led the procession as his supporters and Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders marched with Sanjay Patil carrying party symbol and flags
