COVID-19: Maharashtra records highest ever spike on Thursday

It saw 56,286 cases and 376 deaths, while city saw a slight drop

The state crossed the 55,000- mark on the second consecutive day on Thursday, seeing  the highest COVID-19 cases since March 2020. The city, however, saw a drop on Thursday as it recorded cases below 10,000. The number of deaths in the state shot up over 300 yet again. 

The state recorded 56,286 new cases taking the total tally of Maharashtra to 32.29 lakh. However, on Thursday the COVID-related deaths recorded in the state were 376, taking the total to 57,028 deaths in all.
