DIOR launched its pre-fall 2023 collection with the majestic Gateway of India as its backdrop. The show symbolised India's growing influence in the luxury fashion market. We bring to you snippets from the fashion show which featured Indian fashion motifs like mirror work, Banarasi brocade and much more


The location Gateway of India was chosen as a tribute to the visionary spirit of Christian Dior and his successors who had a profound admiration for India

The runway was adorned with marigold flowers and diya lamps. The models sported fashion garments that had Banarasi brocade fabrics, tye dies, mirror work and Nehru collars to represent India's eclectic fashion culture

For DIOR's creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, each collection represented an opportunity to make new connections between different domains of craftsmanship, ancestral traditions, and ground-breaking innovations

The luxe fashion event was a star-studded affair attended by the likes of Rekha, Sonam Kapoor, Ananya Pandey, Anushka Sharma, Maisie Williams, Arjun Rampal and more

Maria Grazia Chiuri, the creative director of DIOR invited tabla champion Anuradha Pal, acclaimed as the first female professional tabla player in the world, to grace the evening with her performance
