It goes without saying that popular Indian films, that are successful critically and commercially, expand their universes with sequels and prequels. Some are made with the purpose of taking the narrative forward with parts 2, 3, and more. From the Tiger franchise to Pushpa's continuation and Rohit Shetty's cop universe, fans are excited for the big-screen experiences these films promise to provide. Here's looking at the status of upcoming sequels

Tiger 3: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's spy thriller is getting a third part this year. The film is scheduled to release globally on Diwali

Fukrey 3: Pulkit Samrat, Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh and Pankaj Tripathi's laugh riot releases in theatres on September 28

Singham Again: Rohit Shetty reunites with Ajay Devgn for the third installment of Singham. Deepika Padukone plays the first female cop in the universe. Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar join them in the film

Pushpa 2: The Rule: Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil reunite for the sequel of Pushpa. The film is on floors and will release globally on August 15, 2024

Stree 2: Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee's Stree sequel will be releasing in August 2024

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: After the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik Aaryan returns as Rooh Baba with the third installment. The film is scheduled to release in Diwali 2024

Welcome To The Jungle: Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Rahul Dev, Mukesh Tiwari, Sharib Hashmi along with Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani and other star in the film releasing on December 20, 2024

Kantara 2: Rishab Shetty is currently working on the pre-production of the film which is said to be the prequel to Kantara. Reportedly, Kantara 2 will go on floors in November this year with the aim to release in late 2024

War 2: Ayan Mukerji will be directing the sequel of War starring Hrithik Roshan. Reportedly, Jr. NTR and Kiara Advani are headlining the film with him

Brahmastra Part Two: Dev: The second part of the Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt trilogy will be releasing in December 2026

Housefull 5: Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh reunite for the fifth film of the franchise. The rest of the cast is yet to be announced. It is scheduled to release in theatres around Diwali next year

Aashiqui 3: Kartik Aaryan is the new entrant in the franchise. His leading lady is yet to be officially announced. However, reports claim that Akanksha Sharma will be making her Bollywood debut with Aashiqui 3
